About the product Equest Pramox Horse Wormer
Equest Pramox Oral Gel is for the treatment and control of adult and larval stages of important internal parasites including encysted and developing small redworms, large redworms and bots in horses and ponies with a single dose. It also treats all three species of tapeworm.
Licensed for use in horses, ponies and foals from six and a half months of age and now approved for pregnant and lactating mares. Longest recommended dosing interval of any routine wormer at 13 weeks. Supplied in a gel formulation that liquefies in the horse's mouth to reduce risk of rejection to help ensure horses receive their complete dose. Licensed to control benzimidazole resistant strains of cyathostomins, including all larval stages, as well as other nematode species, bots, and all three species of tapeworm. How To Use
For oral administration. One 14.4g syringe contains sufficient gel to treat a 700kg horse at the recommended dose rate (0.4mg moxidectin per kg of bodyweight and 2.5 mg praziquantel per kg bodyweight). Each graduation on the calibrated syringe delivers sufficient gel to treat 25kg bodyweight.
Use of a scale or weight tape is recommended to ensure accurate dosing. To avoid overdosing, care should be taken to accurately dose foals, especially low bodyweight foals or pony foals. The recommended dosing interval for the control of small redworm is 13 weeks. For optimum control of bots, the product should be administered in the autumn, after the end of the fly season and before spring as the larvae may start to pupate and therefore are less sensitive to treatment.
Each gram of Equest Pramox contains 19.5 mg Moxidectin and 121.7mg Praziquantel.
