About the product Ancol Guillotine Clippers
There are two types of clipper available, a guilotine action and a scissor action. With either type, be very careful not to cut the "quick" in the nail or claw. The quick is a blood vessel in the centre of the nail which if accidentally cut can be very painful for the dog and result in bleeding or possible infection.
If your pets claws are are very long then the quick inside the nail could also longer than normal. In this case it is recommended that the nail be but in small pieces every few days to encourage the quick to recede naturally. The correct length of nail is when there is a tiny gap between the floor and the nail when the dog is standing upright. This allows for extra grip when the dog runs.

How to use
Holding the paw and ensuring that the dog is calm, carefully cut off the tip of each nail. It is better if you cut off thin slices of nail at a time, especially if the dogs nail is dark.Try to make sure that no rough edges are left and gently file back the nail if you can.
